A few straightforward notes
Gothic Font privacy.
Your lettering is processed in your browser, without an account or a saved online project.
What happens to your text and images?
The application does not send typed text to an API or store it. Text conversion, font preview, and PNG/SVG creation run on your device. Downloaded images are saved through your browser’s normal download process.
Copy text and Copy image place the selected result on your device’s clipboard when your browser allows it. The site does not read your clipboard. Custom decorations and studio settings are not stored after you leave or reload.
Text is not added to sharing links or saved with your favorite styles. Copy a result or download a PNG or SVG before closing or reloading the page if you want to keep it.
What is saved in this browser?
We use browser local storage for your color theme (gothic-theme), saved style identifiers (gothic-saved), and analytics cookie preference (gothic-analytics). A saved style records a choice such as Classic Fraktur, not the words you typed.
These preferences stay in this browser. The tools continue to work when storage is unavailable, although preferences may last only for the current visit.
How to remove saved preferences
- To remove one favorite, return to the Gothic text generator and select that style’s star again.
- To remove favorites, the stored theme, and your analytics cookie preference, open your browser’s site-data settings and clear stored data for this site.
- Reload the page. The theme follows your device preference until you choose it again, and the saved-style list starts empty.
Cookies, fonts and external requests
When enabled, Google Analytics 4 measures page visits and Microsoft Clarity helps us understand page interactions through heatmaps and session recordings. These services may receive device, browser, page and request information, and use cookies when analytics storage is enabled. Fonts are served with the site rather than a third-party font service. We do not include advertising scripts.
Analytics cookies are enabled by default unless you turn them off below; advertising storage and personalization remain disabled. A saved rejection is applied before either service starts. Provider regional rules may further limit collection. Turning cookies off may still allow limited cookieless measurement; it does not block every request to these services.
We do not send your lettering through analytics events. Google Analytics page URLs omit query strings and fragments, and referrers are reduced to their origin. Clarity masks the main page content, including inputs and lettering previews. Read Google’s privacy policy and Microsoft’s privacy statement for their data practices.
Your analytics cookie preference
Enable JavaScript to view and change your analytics cookie preference.
You can change this at any time. Clearing site data removes your saved choice and restores the default.
Site delivery
When the site is hosted, its hosting provider may process normal request information, such as an IP address and requested URL, to deliver and protect the site. This is separate from the application’s local text processing.
External font and reference links
Links to Unicode, the Open Font License guidance, and original font repositories take you to external sites with their own privacy practices. We do not control those services. The font credits identify the original sources.
Frequently asked questions
Privacy and storage FAQ
Details about local preferences, page URLs, and downloaded files.
Are my words added to the page URL?
The application does not put typed text into a URL. A link from the font collection to the studio can include a known font ID so that the editor opens with the selected typeface; it does not include your preview text.
Do saved lettering styles sync across devices?
No. Saved style identifiers and the theme preference stay in local storage in the browser where you chose them. They are not connected to an account and do not sync to another browser or device.
What happens if browser storage is blocked?
Conversion, copying, and image creation can still work. Theme changes and favorite selections can be used for the current visit, but may not survive a reload. Clipboard access is a separate browser permission; a denied copy action displays a failure message.
Where are my downloaded PNG and SVG files stored?
The browser saves your files through its normal download process, using your browser’s download settings or save dialog. Gothic Font does not keep a server copy of the image or a project you can retrieve later.
